Last week, the Franklin Common Council gave the final OK to a development agreement to get Milwaukee County’s first Costco underway. The agreement had a 5-0-1 approval, with Alderwoman Eichmann abstaining.

Back in February, Mayor John Nelson commented that the plan was for a late October opening. Given the later timeframe on approvals, it is unknown if that now-ambitious goal will be met.

The hurdle that took its time seemed to revolve around traffic planning and access to the retailer, given that 27th Street is a state highway (WIS 241).
